Bay Area Talks and Seminars

Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the California Native Plant Society has many talks every month. Look at the calendar on their website for upcoming events. Or at their Gardening with Natives website.

Common Ground garden supply in Palo Alto offers classes and talks in many areas of landscaping, garden cultivation, plant choice, and irrigation. Elizabeth Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto offers classes and talks on many topics.

North Bay and San Francisco (Yerba Buena) California Native plant chapter has an events listing, and many other local resources.

Marin Chapter California Native Plant Society has links to North Bay talks. Master Gardener of Santa Clara county has talks and courses they offer.

The Western Horticultural Society has a speaker program worth checking out.

Horticulture Courses in the Bay Area

Cabrillo College in Aptos offers a degree in horticulture both for career students, and for gardeners. City College of San Francisco offers a degree in Environmental Horticulture.

The Elizabeth Gamble Gardens website has an excellent list of courses offered both by local colleges, and by organizations like Common Ground for people in the Bay Area.

Foothill Junior College has an AA degree in Horticulture.

Master Gardener of Santa Clara county has talks and courses they offer.U.C Berkeley extension offers a Landscape Architecture Certificate Program.

Classes Outside the Bay Area

Use the CNPS Chapters webpage for their chapter listing and identify your local chapter and check their webpage for talks and seminars.

The California Invasive Plant Council offers Wildland Weed Field Courses.
